Scoring Notes

Did Not Start

Boats who don't cross the starting line receive a DNS, or the amount of racers who crossed the starting line plus 2.

Did Not Finish

Boats who don't finish a race receive a DNF, or the amount of racers who crossed the starting line plus 1.

Throw outs

Each MC-scow receives one throw out for both the Saturday and Sunday series. Thus, the worst score for each boat in each series will be discarded when determining the winners for that series as well for the club champion. The Friday series receives no throw outs.

The high point scores refer to the sailor's score without these throw outs.

Commodore Reese Trophy

This trophy, a unique-designed water pitcher mounted on a wooden base, was presented in honor of Suzanne Wigginton Reese by the Long Lake Yacht Club in 1998. Suzi Reese served as Commodore of the Inland Yachting Association during 1997 and 1998, the period which included the ILYA’s Centenial Celebration. At her request, the trophy will be sailed for by the MC Class in a designated series of races.

2017 Winner: Brian Cooper

Kaeding/Ramlose Memorial Trophy

Presented in 2002 by Donald M. and Dianne J. Kaeding, this trophy is a gimbal-mounted navigational clock, housed in a mahogany finished solid wood case. The trophy is awarded to the winner of the last Sunday MC race.

2017 Winner: Brian Cooper

Stamm Trophy

This is an original painting by Cathy Wiener. It was donated in 2009 by Evie Stamm Cooper in memory of her family’s love for inland lake sailing. It is awarded to the winner of the 4th of July two-race MC Scow series.
